Pro Day – Speed, Technique and Agility with Coach Tracy
Coach Tracy Clark displayed his vast knowledge of the game this morning by bringing his professional training equipment and numerous agility drills for both the AA and AAA divisions. It was like a Major League Baseball workout for the campers, who got the chance to display their skills and versatility through a number of different stations.
Each station focused on fielding techniques while also incorporating foot-speed and core strength. The different stations focused on ground balls, fly balls and a multitude of lateral movements to field the ball in the best athletic position.
Campers were all smiles and definitely had a blast using the weighted balls to work on their techniques in fielding ground balls hit right at them, to their glove side and to their backhand with Coach Adam. Coach Alex focused on improving footwork in the infield by making it competitive using ladders and ropes. The players couldn’t wait to get into the outfield with Coach Chris, where he had them running and diving to catch fly balls.
Following a morning full of fun, the two divisions ran through each infield position, one-on-one, with the idea of incorporating what they learned in the pro-workout with Coach Tracy.
Campers are looking forward to the rest of the week and their big trip to Citizens Bank Park on Thursday! The big buzz around camp is, “What Phillies Player or Coach are they going to meet?”
